The Ford Ranger has managed to out sell its closest rival the Toyota Hilux by 257 Units in January, 2017. The top three for the month of January were Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux followed closely by the Holden Colorado. Overall the total numbers are down for both brands compared to last Decembers statistics. Market experts and are predicting an excellent year for new car sales. Coming off a record sales year in 2016 the market has responded well with a modest gain. With consumer confidence steady, private buyers that are active in the market place are snapping up savings on offer from the major leading brands.
Tony Weber from the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries sees it as a good sign for the year to come. The Light Commercial Vehicle sales were down overall by 3.9% when compared to January 2016. Toyota had the highest total number of vehicle sales with 12,554 sales, very close to last years results.
